What we fund

Government Funded makes grants in the United States, and in some cases internationally, in nearly all sectors of research and funding possibility.

Most organizations have very specific limitations, so while we fund a wide variety of projects and programs, it is perhaps easier to list those typically excluded from outside finance to tell you that we welcome requests in these areas:

We fund projects related to:

Racism, religious superiority and programs common sense might suggest are wholly without merit.

We fund individuals.

Hate and hate-based programs.

Blogs and bloggers on any topic, including household pets and children.

What we do not fund

There are many, many projects that we do fund, but still a short list of what we DO NOT fund. While we do not wish to discourage creativity in any form, we generally will not fund anything involving cruelty to humans or animals, or anything with the possibility of long term health consequences or death, unless specific provisions are included to address and/or circumvent the concerns, such as medics on hand or conducing research in Mexico.

We d not fund studies in any foreign language, nor the benefits, value or intellectual advantages that may come from the study of other languages. As such we will not fund any linguistic studies, such as those proposing to foster a greater understanding of world cultures through language, most specifically Arabic or Farce languages.

While we will fund studies aimed at the understanding of religion and religious sciences, we can no longer fund any studies pertaining to religions that are not Christianity, with a case-by-case exception made only for Catholicism. Unitarian studies do not qualify under our guidelines as "Christian".

How to apply

Since we’re more interested in the idea than the formalities of the procedure, we do not ask that a grant proposal be "completely perfect" prior to submission, or have any solid idea behind it. We know what groups want and we’re happy to adjust submissions as needed to insure full funding. Rather than get bogged down in details, we just ask you submit your request, even if it’s hand written and presented on a bar napkin. Let us sharpen it up to recognized standards. That’s what we do.

Review and selection process

We have a diverse, interesting and "intelligent" selection committee who routinely meet to review new proposals and assign them to specialists who will either grant the funds straightaway or complete them in such a way to nearly insure funding. For more information about our selection committee, please review our Selection Committee page.
